When Jose Hernandez took the job of CEO a year ago, he knew very little about the retail industry. Over the past 14 months, he had learned a lot about profit margins, shipping and receiving, forklifts, showerheads, wood floors, tile, grout, toilet seats, staffing, and even customer service.
