Transforming Communities, One Family at a Time
Guided by faith, our Partners in Hope program aims to support the successful reintegration of those who were previously incarcerated, empowering them to become responsible and engaged members of society.
Community Warehouse Sets a
Monthly Sales Record!
By Jose Hernandez, CEO- Community Warehouse
When I took the job of CEO a year ago, I knew very little about the retail industry. Over the past 14 months, I have learned a lot about profit margins, shipping and receiving, forklifts, showerheads, wood floors, tile, grout, toilet seats, staffing, and even customer service.

What I did know was that Community Warehouse is a faith-based ministry that sells new home remodeling products to help transform communities one family at a time. In addition to improving homes and neighborhoods, the proceeds from the stores support the Partners in Hope program. They help formerly incarcerated people return to society by helping them get licenses, jobs, new support systems, and places to live.

Having worked in the House of Correction for 30 years, I saw firsthand the positive impact Partners in Hope makes on individuals and our neighborhoods.  With that in mind, in addition to the generous support we receive from Foundations, businesses, churches, and donors, I learned that the more success we have in the stores, the more people we can help.

To make a long story short, last Thanksgiving we held our first ever “Black Friday” sale at our south side store location. There were people standing outside waiting to get in and we set a record for the amount of sales in one day. We can’t “outgive God” and He continued to bless us with donations of new tile, gorgeous wood flooring, new bathroom fixtures, and even a shipment of high-end children’s clothes!  We thought it would be a while before we broke that record, but God had different plans. In the month of January, we doubled our monthly budget in sales!

We are so thankful. This increased support we receive helps us to serve more people through Partners in Hope.  For example, before last year, we had served a total of 52 people. In 2022 alone, we graduated 97 individuals!

I am thankful to be able to share the good news about our stores and wanted to provide a few brief testimonials below. I also wanted to introduce you to our two store managers, Raiza and Eddie. They are a big reason for our success and love meeting new people. I hope you stop in to see them soon!

Thanks for all your support.

God bless you,

Partners in Hope Success Stories

Gabriel is a 2023 graduate of Partners in Hope. He is employed by LTL Services, located in Oak Creek. He was thrilled to actually make a recent delivery to our Green Tree Warehouse.

“I love my job and I love Partners in Hope too!”
JoJo is also a 2023 Partners in Hope graduate and she also took advantage of the paid training program offered to certain individuals after graduation. The only problem JoJo faced is that she was such an AMAZING worker that she had multiple job offers from people who wanted to hire her full-time, including Community Warehouse! She ended up relocating to the Green Bay area to be closer to family and accept a new position. She continues to have success at her new job, and we are very proud of her!

"I would like to thank everybody at community warehouse/PIH for helping me adjust to the outside world and see things from a different perspective. Without this program I’m not sure I’d be doing as well as I am.  Everybody helped steer me onto the right path during a very difficult time.  Thank you to everybody who supports this program." - JoJo
